Engineer Spotlight: Zach Sparks

🎉 As we continue to celebrate Engineers Week, it is an honor to recognize #ourpeople.

Today’s Engineer Spotlight goes to Zach Sparks, Director of Detailing Technology. He is an integral member of our Integrated Steel Design and Detailing team in our Nashville Office.

Zach’s decision to go back to school later in life to pursue engineering and earn his Professional Engineer (PE) license was inspired by several individuals, including Scotty Goodrich, who took Zach under his wing and continues to help and guide him through this journey. When asked about his favorite part of his job, Zach immediately highlighted the incredible team he works with every day. The fast-paced, ever-changing nature of the work keeps him energized, but it’s the people, many of whom he’s worked with for nearly 20 years, that make it special. To Zach, they are more than colleagues; they are a second family.

Outside of engineering, he loves his family, music, and motorcycles. An adventure at the top of his bucket list is a motorcycle ride from Nashville to Route 66, continuing to California and up the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Oregon.

Though he no longer plays in a band, Zach spent many years touring professionally in his younger days. Now, he still makes time to play whenever possible, jumping in with different bands whenever his schedule allows.
