The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has appointed Roksana (Roxy) Taghizadeh, PE, FPCI, as Chair of the PCI Design Handbook, 10th Edition Committee. In this role, Roxy will lead the technical work to develop, update, and publish the next edition.

“Widely recognized for technical leadership in precast, prestressed concrete design, extensive committee involvement, and contributions to the advancement of the precast concrete industry, Roksana brings the expertise and vision needed to guide development of this landmark publication,” stated PCI in its announcement.

The PCI Design Handbook offers practical guidance on precast, prestressed concrete structures. It covers analysis, design, detailing, fabrication, and construction. Early in her career, Roxy relied on the PCI Design Handbook as a key resource. She later served on the PCI Design Handbook, 9th Edition Committee, and chaired the update of Chapter 4, Analysis and Design of Precast Concrete Structures. She hoped that one day her knowledge and experience could have a similar impact on students and engineers. As Chair of the 10th Edition Committee, she’ll now help lead the development of its next edition.

Roxy has been a dedicated contributor to the precast concrete industry since 2007 and an active PCI member since 2013. She completed the Leadership PCI program in 2015 and has since taken on influential roles across several committees. These include the Data Center Task Group, Design Standards, Industry Handbook, and Professional Members Committees. Roxy also founded and previously chaired the PCI Industry Diversity Committee. Beyond committee work, Roxy has been closely involved with the PCI Foundation and its local studios and has served as a judge for the PCI Design Awards.

In 2025, Roxy became the youngest PCI Fellow recipient in PCI history. She also received the Irwin J. Speyer Young Professional Engineer Award for her significant contributions to PCI early in her career.

Roxy is a subject matter expert in precast, prestressed design, detailing, and construction. She leads AG&E’s Integrated Precast, Prestressed Concrete Design sector. Through her technical expertise, industry involvement, and commitment to the profession, she continues to demonstrate the personal and professional qualities needed to help advance the precast concrete industry.
